With the choice of hire boats we have available, there’s something to suit everyone. The boats we have to offer range from small 4-seater cruisers to our most popular 8-seater boats and BBQ pontoons. Then we have our largest option – a 12 seat BBQ pontoon that’s perfect for entertaining a larger group. Our cruisers allow you to explore the river with ease, but with our BBQ pontoons, you can also enjoy grilling up some delicious food whilst relishing the sights of the Noosa River, making the experience even more special.

In addition, we offer boat hire for a variety of durations, giving you the freedom and flexibility to enjoy the river as you want to. Our BBQ pontoons can be hired out for either a full day or half a day, whilst our 4- and 8-seater cruisers offer even greater flexibility. These boats are available for even as little as one hour, or for a full day out on the water.

Do I need a boat license to hire a boat?

Boats with engines exceeding 4.5kW require a marine licence for operation in Queensland. If you are on the water, you don’t need to carry your license; just your photo ID.

If your vessel is accompanied by someone with a valid marine licence, you will not need a license. In case of trouble, the licensed supervisor should be able to take immediate action.

In order to operate a boat or personal watercraft pulling a person on the water, such as a water skier or tube rider, you need a valid marine licence.

The boats we have here at Noosa Watersports can be adapted to accommodate families or groups of different sizes. Self-drive boats are available for hire and no boat license is required for operation.

Although Noosa Main Beach and the coves and bays of Noosa National Park typically receive the most attention, the Noosa River should not be overlooked. One of only two everglade systems in the world, the Noosa River feeds into Lake Cooloola, Lake Como, Lake Cootharaba, Lake Cooroibah, and Lake Weyba before reaching the ocean. The perfect river destination has something to offer everyone.

How long can I hire a boat for?

Your options are almost limitless with Noosa Watersports. You can choose to take a boat out for the morning or afternoon for a couple of hours of leisure on the water. Alternatively, there are options to take the boat for the entire day.

You can spend the day fishing or even entertaining friends on our specially designed vessels. Want more? We also have long-term options so you can take a boat out for an entire week so you can really soak up the Noosa experience.

What types of boats are for hire?

Our most popular option is the Supa Cruiser, which can accommodate eight people for just $70. This affordable option means you take the entire family out on the bay in comfort and style. There is also the Centre Console variant for four people, which is ideal for a mates fishing trip. Looking to have lunch on the bay? We have BBQ pontoons available with cooking and eating spaces available in 8, 10 and 12 seat options starting from just $120.

Do you offer boat hire gift vouchers?

Gift cards are the perfect present for friends and loved ones as they allow them to enjoy or purchase things they like in their own time. One of the main negatives about gift cards is that they can have limited amounts put on them, plus they have expiry dates. There is nothing worse than going to use a gift card and finding out it has expired.

That is why we offer gift cards with no limits. Put as much money as you like on for your loved ones and we won’t put an expiry on it. If they want to use the card in two years? Five years? A decade? That is totally fine.
